Re: Periodic releases are over

ah yes all the "uninitiated" who really want to install a self-hosted rss reader but just can't because dang, git is too hard instead of you know hanging out on facebook or whatever and never caring about any of this shit Well, that's obviously what a bunch of them do :) A few may have en...

Re: Periodic releases are over

It seems to me that the current setup pushes TT-RSS a bit more into the field of sysadmins - or people that understand and can do those tasks. At a certain point, especially with the automatic update routine, setting up the software on some shared hosting, Amazon AWS or similar would be the topic of...

Re: Ctrl+click does not open links in article in background

But see, not everybody has a middle click :) Mostly laptops, I guess, though. The funny things is how ctrl-click is behaving differently in tt-rss than on a vanilla html page. I do remember stumbling over it probably half a century ago and thought that was weird. Back then, IIRC, it did even behave ...

Re: Ctrl+click does not open links in article in background

Although I concede the poster has a funny way of describing it, I do see the same behaviour: if I ctrl-click on whatever link on whatever page, it opens a new tab in the background. If I do it in tt-rss, it opens a new tab and switches to it. Behaviour does not immediately bug me, and I don't know i...

Re: Proper way to migrate from MySQL to PostgreSQL

I don't remember providing a schema, could you hook me up? The tool has to run on a previously-initialized PGSQL database using the latest schema from TT-RSS. My apologies, I caught that from another thread, not from you. :) It did not have an impact on the mode of failure, though. Just out of curi...

Re: Proper way to migrate from MySQL to PostgreSQL

@XianPalin, Thanks for mentioning, but I do not have access to a Windows machine. @hrk, Thanks for looking up. I gave it a quick try just now, sadly it does not want to play. Ran a few tests, always after recreating the postgresql database. I've tried with the original pgsql schema from ttrss/schema...

Re: Proper way to migrate from MySQL to PostgreSQL

@hrk --

Just wanted to inquire if you think your tool is still fit - I am pondering migrating an instance with a number of users (total around 3500 feeds) over. Obviously I will run a dry run before. But if there's a good reason from your end not to even bother, I'd be glad to know. :)

Thanks

That would be very nice :-)

Re: online instance of tt-rss available at www.make.lu

dns is what I thought as well - but then I do have traffic coming in, and a few registrations, too.

About an hour ago, I recreated the a-record. If anything got stuck, that should help.

Re: online instance of tt-rss available at www.make.lu

Julien,

Far as I can see it's happy and alive, there's a bit of traffic on - and I've just accessed it from multiple networks to check.

May I enquire about what time you tried to access, and what IP you tried to access from? Just so I can dig in the logs a bit.

online instance of tt-rss available at www.make.lu

Hello -- For those of you coming from Google Reader and not really interested in running your own, I'd suggest taking a look at http://www.make.lu , respectively directly at http://reader.make.lu . This is an online instance of tt-rss, available for free until Google Reader dies, payable afterwards ...

Re: article movement in 1.7.1

Don't bother for me, here, fox. The specific amount of scrolling is only one of my itches, the other one (different behaviour depending on article length) grates me more. But then, I have my solution. Just don't take N/P away from me, please ;)

article movement in 1.7.1

From the wiki: In 1.7.1 article movement shortcuts are a bit different in combined mode. n/p or up/down will scroll long posts before switching to the next one Ctrl-up/down will move between posts like previous versions Cool :) I used to fiddle in the mappings to put N and P on the up/down keys, so ...

Re: dabbling with keycodes

Thanks fox, I'll look into the plugin.

I prefer the N action on my arrow down key - just sliding down a few pixels. The traditional arrow-down always jumps an entire article. Depending on article size, that's inconvenient.
