Re: Cookies for getting feeds

That one is tougher than it sounds.
Authenticated RSS feeds are rough, but forms based authenticated feeds are completely goofy.

This would meant that TT would have to parse the login form, fill in the user/pass, get the cookie, then request the rss...

Re: Send a news on Identi.ca or Twitter

If I implement it as an optional config would you be willing to include it in the distribution? I could use this functionality. I would include it as an option under the user preferences page. Status Messages API: http://identi.ca/api User: mattkatz Pass: soopersecrit The other option I might take i...

Re: Relative links in post

I had a similar problem with some feeds.
I solved this by using Yahoo Pipes to take the feed and change local paths to remote paths.

Yahoo pipes FTW!

I seem to be experiencing some kind of brain failure.

Things are working now.

localized img src seems to break images.

I subscribe to designboom.com. Their rss feed seems to only contain local img urls instead of absolute img urls, and it seems to break in tt-rss. They have <img src="/cms/images/blahblah.jpg" /> instead of <img src="http://designboom.com/cms/images/blahblah.jpg" /> I built a yaho...

Fox, you're the bomb.

If you put this out there, looks like I'll have to upgrade my tt-rss installation finally!

Re: Share with note

This is actually one of the more popular new features in google reader. It's very social and welcoming We already have publish - which is essentially the same. If a user's published feeds are available via RSS, you could use that. The key difference is that users don't have a way to annotate an item...

Re: monitor web sites

Fox is referring to a common ideology in the open source world. Do one thing, right and make it easy to use with other things. RSS is the interface into tt-rss, and it's a pretty good boundary line for what is and isn't the business of tt-rss. If you don't want to use yahoo pipes, why not consider d...

Re: monitor web sites

I recommend you use page2rss and also learn about yahoo pipes for filtering.

Let ttrss do one thing well: monitor rss feeds.

Re: shortcuts : add some, offer possibilities to customize them

I really like the idea of making the shortcuts more similar. i'll probably try pushing these into my installation.

Thanks jcordasc!

(and thanks fox for the whole thing - tt-rss is leagues ahead of the other web feed readers.)

Re: Possibility to load the real page in the preview

I'm with fox on this one. Anyone who is competent enough to install their own web based rss reader should be able to whip up a quick, free yahoo pipes feed of whatever they want to scrape. google reader doesn't do this, bloglines doesn't do this, netnewswire doesn't do this, and with good reason. I'...
