Re: feed in tt-rss has more articles than web browser/myfeedsucks

update, i guess the database or w/e theory is out, because your offending usa today article is literally right there in the feed: [12:38:17/29169] article processed [12:38:17/29169] guid 2,http://usatodayhss.com/2017/texas-football-player-who-struck-ref-allowed-to-return-to-sports / SHA1:50439f1bae...

Re: feed in tt-rss has more articles than web browser/myfeedsucks

No dice. The feed directly in the browser with the &x=1 (does seem to be rendering as RSS, as Firefox is asking if I want to subscribe via Live Bookmarks) shows the three latest articles as: 1. Fire and Ice Notes: Devils get "quality" back into game Wednesday, January 18, 2017 2:19 AM ...

Re: feed in tt-rss has more articles than web browser/myfeedsucks

I've subscribed to that feed and will let you know if it works. Thanks, and good catch on the little icon...with the ?x=1 it does seem to render as an RSS feed in my browser, so hopefully that will process properly in tt-rss as well.

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

Not sure what to tell you. Do you have the curl extension for php installed and enabled? If not, the plugin falls back to a more rudimentary method which may not fully resolve the URL. Create a file on the server with just <?php phpinfo(); in it, then access it from a web browser and look for curl....

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

I don't know PHP very well, but that's what I gathered it was supposed to do based on doing exactly that (looking at the source code). So, it doesn't seem that the plugin is active on the selected feed since the URL isn't getting resolved (beyond the feedproxy link, at least). Are there any error lo...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

What factors go into the logic for determining the guid? Article GUID is generally specified by the feed, if the feed is broken and it's not available, tt-rss uses the url and if that is not there I think it just makes up one. Is the af_unburn supposed to resolve article URLs to their final destina...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

I wrote a procedure to basically do what I needed in the database - drop table IF EXISTS temp_parse; create table temp_parse (id int(11) NOT NULL, link text NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`)) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET = utf8; insert into temp_parse (id, link) (select id, substring_index(link, '~3', -...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

What factors go into the logic for determining the guid? Timestamp? Article URL? Both? If the guid is what's used to determine duplicate articles and it has to do with timestamp, it won't work for what I'm looking to do since the articles have different timestamps as they are posted to the different...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

Okay, I think I see where you're coming from. Independent of whether or not the duplicate articles setting should work (and based on your explanation I could see why it wouldn't), should the unburn plugin be resolving the URLs in the articles so that tt-rss's GUI/the database shows the links as bein...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

I'm hoping it will be quick and easy if someone can help me figure out why the plugin doesn't seem to be working. :D Problem is that the guid is set before HOOK_ARTICLE_FILTER which is what af_feedmod hooks into, and for technical reasons the guid can't be changed at that stage anymore (it might be...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

Have you tried the af_unburn plug-in that comes with TT-RSS? I think it might resolve the URLs (feedproxy) and then, since they point to the same place, the duplicate check would work (in theory, I haven't looked at the code, but I think I remember messing around with it a while ago). Apologies if ...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

Bump. I'm thinking this could be accomplished via database script relatively simply...depending on the database structure. I'm thinking something along the lines of "look in the database for articles over the past 2, maybe 3 days for articles that almost match and set all but one of them to 're...

Re: Plugin question - not sure if possible

You mean like Preferences -> General -> Allow duplicate articles ? Toggle that off and dupes go away, at least for me. It's toggled off already. As mentioned in the first post, the articles are not strictly duplicates of each other...there are slight differences in the URLs of the article...so that...
