Re: update_daemon is unable to read config.php

This question seems package specific. Ask the Arch package maintainer. Or use the source/git version from tt-rss.org which keeps all files together the same subfolder (making permission issues easier to fix).

Re: 'published articles' feature seems superfluous

Thanks. I know how to customize the ui, but it was just a suggestion to remove the feature entirely. just because YOU don't happen to use some feature, or indeed like it, doesn't mean that there aren't whole hoards of others who DO like it. might think on that before you push for "cleaning thi...

Re: 'published articles' feature seems superfluous

So I gather you're not against it per se, as long as someone would create a patch?

Not if you can configure which labels you want to be able to use with one click. At least then 'starred' and 'published' are not some kind of special label anymore like they are now.

Re: 'published articles' feature seems superfluous

If you would use a label 'published', or 'starred', and possibly change the web/android interface to toggle it on/off with a single click, the result is the same: a public rss feed (or more than one) that you can use in a gadget, and an item in the treemenu.

Re: 'published articles' feature seems superfluous

Ambiguous wasn't the right word. But it sounded good. In this case multiple things (features) have the same meaning, in a way that is (I suspect) not obvious to users.

Re: 'published articles' feature seems superfluous

Wouldn't it be an idea to deprecate it? It would make the UI cleaner and less ambiguous.

'published articles' feature seems superfluous

I wonder why there is a feature 'published articles'. Doesn't using labels accomplish basically the same thing? I.e. a custom feed based on a selection from other feeds?

'starred' versus 'marked'

The contextmenu item called 'Toggle Marked' causes a news item it to be visible in the 'Starred articles'. Shouldn't this be the same term? I tried various other languages but then too different terms are used for both things.

Re: Error Trying To Use Bookmarklet

I misread your question. It seems the problem is that the bookmarklet is pointing to a non existing url. It expects .../tt-rss/ while you named it /reader/ . So either change the bookmarklet or the foldername in your installation (and config).

Re: Error Trying To Use Bookmarklet

It seems like a permissions issue indeed.
- Try giving folder 'reader' and everything in it permissions '750'
- subfolders 'cache', 'feed-icons' and 'lock' and everything in it permissions '770'.

Re: Feature request: Maintance mode

My tt-rss installation is used by several people and one that way they'd be crying that tt-rss is broken and keep me away from doing the maintance. I implied renaming and putting an index.htm there with maintenance message. And with .htaccess you can do stuff like restrict access and/or temporarily...

Re: Feature request: Maintance mode

Why not just rename index.php? or rename the whole tt-rss folder to disable mobile clients as well.

Re: Open tt-rss in Firefox sidebar

Isn't this just a matter of opening links with middle click? Otherwise hack the code to make the links open in target="_blank" .

Useful for the sidebar might be to remove width restriction.
