Re: Extend update timeout

That's getting a bit difficult somehow. I edited /etc/default/tt-rss and set FORKING=0 in order to use the standard updater. After this I did: sudo service tt-rss start Just for fun I tried: sudo service tt-rss stop which should stop the updater again but I got: start-stop-daemon: warning: failed to...

Re: How to reset feed errors?

Sorry, I'm a bit stupid...
I forgot to start the update daemon.
That explains a lot of course.

How to reset feed errors?

Due to maintenance to my home server most feeds have errored out with error 404 (meaning: page not found). How do I reset them? Apparently once a feed is errored out it remains invalid or something. The TT RSS forum feed is supposed to update each hour. But is hasn't updated for 5 hours now while it...

Re: Extend update timeout

Hmm, interesting.
Sometimes the feeds from Blogspot don't work in the browser either and sometimes they do work.
I need to think about this.

Re: Extend update timeout

That is apparently not the solution for error 28 here. I've set it to a rather large number and now ALL feeds error out and afaik no way to recover. Now there are 3 instances of the update daemon running and each of them appears to be waiting on the others so all feeds are stuck now. Even manual upd...

Extend update timeout

Some of my feeds regularly give error 28: Operation timed out. When looked up manually in a browser the feeds work perfect although they take longer than 45 seconds to appear (due to large and/or lots of pictures). Because I run tt-rss on my own Linux home server and I read the feeds usually once a ...

Re: Google detects my server as a bot since I run TT-RSS

I get this problem regularly. The problem existed before I used tt-rss and it still exists now I do, so it has nothing to do with tt-rss. Google is very keen on collecting as much information about you as is possible. That captcha stuff is part of it (more or less). I know for sure that if you apply...

Re: Getting same posts over and over again

OK, that'll work for me.
I guess I am getting to used to programs working the other way around.
So in the future I need to archive posts I want to keep and let the others be purged by expiration.

Thanks for your time and advice.

Re: Getting same posts over and over again

Well, I've been subscribed to those two feeds for almost an entire day and I'm not seeing any dupes so far. What happens when you archive some posts and then delete them? Because if you keep all the posts then TT RSS can detect the posts are already available so it doesn't have to do any attempts t...

Re: Getting same posts over and over again

>As long as the retrieved feeds are stored in the original feed tree everything is fine but as soon as they are removed from there TT RSS gets them again during the next update session. What do you mean by this? I mean that as long as the POSTS (sorry, I did type that incorrectly in the previous me...

Getting same posts over and over again

Thanks for making this software. I've found an interesting issue that might be of interest for you. On certain Blogpost feeds TT RSS keeps getting the same posts over and over again even if instructed that duplicate feeds are not allowed. I've tried everything I can think of to learn TT RSS that fee...

Re: Install problems

Well, you can joke about it, but error ridden is actually an existing definition. See: http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/error-ridden Anyway, thanks for the reactions. This is actually one of the not so many forums where one gets an answer within 24 hours. Concerning the "error r...

Bug Report

Well, the program tells me to send an error report. It is filed as: http://tt-rss.org/report.php?view=f738405c551692f4a005d60410997f66beea9adc I can't exactly provide a context. It's just not starting and immediately throwing the error report. It's throwing "Cannot modify header information - h...

Install problems

Since a few days I run TT-RSS. It's a great piece of software but unfortunately the version in the Ubuntu repositories is quite old (version 1.6.2). So I decided to upgrade. I've tried to download the new version from the "Download tarball, v1.7.8" link on the front page but it is dead and...
