Re: [master 84a463e] HTTP 304 treated as an error on feed up

Fair enough. It only started doing it today, and it seems to have stopped doing it. I didn't change anything, so it must have been them.

Re: [master 84a463e] HTTP 304 treated as an error on feed up

When I hover over the error symbol in ttrss, it says "HTTP Code: 304". When I f D, it says "unable to fetch: [200]".

Re: [master 84a463e] HTTP 304 treated as an error on feed up

I'm posting it because tt-rss is telling me it's a 304 error, and this thread seemed to be the same issue.

Re: [master 84a463e] HTTP 304 treated as an error on feed up

I have now hit this issue. It occurs for me only on fanfiction.net community feeds, and "feed claims data not modified" doesn't appear when I use f D. On the other hand, "unable to fetch: [200]" does appear. Do you want me to post the whole thing so you can comb through it?

Thanks, that worked. I may still finish this plugin just because I can, but at least it's no longer bugging me with erroneous updates.

Re: Alternative method of testing for unread feeds

What I am trying to do is this. Every time a feed is updated this plugin checks if it's supposed to run (if the checkbox has been checked), then goes through for each entry in the feed and compares the value of the <updated> tag to see if it has changed and marks it as unread if it has. In other wor...

Re: Alternative method of testing for unread feeds

Here's what I have so far. Any feedback? <?php class Alt_Update extends Plugin { private $host; function about() { return array(1.0, "Compares the <updated> tag on FF.net to determine if article has updated, and marks it as unread.", "DieKatzchen"); } function init($host) { $this...

Alternative method of testing for unread feeds

I want to make a plugin that adds another checkbox to the per-feed settings that lets me use an alternative method for testing if a feed has updated, and then marking as unread. This is primarily for Fanfiction.net which marks an article(fic) as updated whenever there is a new chapter. This would be...

Re: False positives with "mark updated articles as unread"

That's what I thought. Now I just need to look at some code and figure out how it works. Wish me luck.

Re: False positives with "mark updated articles as unread"

Yeah, I know, but I figure I'd have more luck here than on FF.net. Especially since tt-rss has a plugin API. Also, Fox actually participates in these forums whereas I have no idea who formats the feeds for FF.net. I was just hoping someone could suggest a better workaround before I sit down with sai...

False positives with "mark updated articles as unread"

I primarily chose tt-rss because it gave me the option of marking updated articles as new, which I could not convince the Google Reader team to even add an option for. Yes, I know that the official rss spec says to make a new article instead of updating an old one, nobody does that. My problem now i...

Re: Mark updated guid as unread

Never mind, there is. You have to go into preferences to do it. Way better product than Google Reader. They were too hung up on sticking to the spec to accept that maybe certain publishers weren't following the spec.

Re: Mark updated guid as unread

In that case I change my feature request to making it a per-folder or global setting. Unless there is a way to bulk-edit them, since I have over 200 feeds I'd have to do this for.

Mark updated guid as unread

Fanfiction uses a single guid per story, and reuses it when the story is updated. Tt-rss places updated feeds in the correct order - which is awesome and my main complaint with google reader was that it didn't - but would it be possible to mark an article which has been updated as unread? It could b...
