Re: unfetched image URLs push aside content

It's a different solution. I use it on a site to do something like this:

Image

Yeah, you could do that with a single str_replace with multiple needles too. Hopefully your server won't explode for using a single regex.

Re: unfetched image URLs push aside content

This should probably work.

Code: Select all

$url_parts = parse_url($url);
$domain = $url_parts["host"];
$file = basename($url_parts["path"]);
if(preg_match('/(jpg|jpeg|png|gif)+$/', $url)){
   $anchor = "<a href='$url'>$file </a>";
}

Re: [Android Client] Open links as Chrome custom tab

Yes please.
I've been hating this change with passion. The dialog seems a fine compromise

Re: [Android Client] Open links as Chrome custom tab

I can confirm it works perfectly.

But the "doesn't open the app" it's an awful trade.

Can you consider to set up an option to enable this? Watching everything in a custom tab breaks every integration with native apps like YouTube, reddit apps, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Thanks

Re: PSA: indexes and high CPU usage

Oh. I see the problem. The change was made on the trunk version, schema version 127. The guid index was dropped from the create scripts and a drop index was added. https://github.com/gothfox/Tiny-Tiny-RSS/commit/bd40827b737464ea2de8857fded057122543990a It was also dropped from the pgsql version, but...

PSA: indexes and high CPU usage

If you are facing high cpu usage and you have lots of feeds and entries (coff, hoarders, coff), make sure to add an index to the ttrss_entries.guid column. I went from a 100% cpu usage to a 10% just adding an index ALTER TABLE `ttrss_entries` ADD INDEX ( `guid` ) Before: mysql> explain sELECT id FRO...

Re: How many feeds can tt-rss handle?

About 400k entries, 1GB.

I disabled the purge (Bad idea, I know), and it runs perfectly ok. I had to patch the Preferences windows because it has a query which killed the server. Besides that, it works perfectly. I use the web version and the official app.

Re: Official Android client

We will have to adapt, I guess. Or make our own app

What's kind of weird is that the back button behaves the same as the home button (at least on the articles list), it's kind of odd to have two different buttons for the same action. I understand the rationale, but it's still odd.

Re: Official Android client

The exit on back is biting me every single time too. Is it possible to show the drawer on the back button press, instead of exit?

Re: Error showing the feeds list in preferences

Hey, that worked fox, thank you. Snarky comments aside and returning to the original problem... This query is extremely heavy on a ttrss instance with high number of feeds and big retention period. 1262 $result = $this->dbh->query("SELECT COUNT(*) AS num_inactive FROM ttrss_feeds WHERE 1263 (SE...

Re: Error showing the feeds list in preferences

I can confirm this report. I have a decent vps, ttrss works perfectly, except for the preferences page. I have many feeds and a long entry expiracy períod. I debugged the problem. There is a query which counts something and brings every thing to a halt. I commented the query and lost the counter but...

Re: Implement CORS headers for the API

Couldn't this be easily configured in the http server (with mod_headers for example)?

What attribute to match for plugins?

I some time ago I made two plugins, one for Ctrl+Alt+Del (a webcomic, to show embedded comic on ttrs) and one for Hacker News (to change the link to a mobile friendly version). Those were based a bit on the dilbert plugin, which filters with the guid: if (strpos($article["guid"], "dil...

Re: Starre arbitrary URL (i.e. URL not in a feed)

Another option is just send the page you are watching to another service (like readability, for example) and then consume that feed
