Re: US residential ISP terms of service: anyone called out for hosting at home?

Thanks for the tip about the VPS. I haven't ventured there. That will be next, just for the experience. Dumb, right. I'm not familiar with OpenVZ, so I'll go a looking. I checked into DigitalOcean, and it was very affordable. Thanks for your comments!! Looks to me like you're one very experienced Ma...

Re: US residential ISP terms of service: anyone called out for hosting at home?

If I'm using it on my LAN only, then the only impact on the ISP's network is pinging the feeds. I'm like you, arkolbus, I'm not sure it's a violation of the TOS. By the way, JustAMacUser, I have two installations I'm testing, one on a home server and the other a shared hosting service. The one on my...

US residential ISP terms of service: anyone called out for hosting at home?

In the US, residential accounts with ISPs typically prohibit running a personal server for things like IRC, POP, SMTP, HTTP etc. Has anyone been called out by your ISP for running a tt-rss server in your home? I'm thinking of running tt-rss locally and accessing it locally on my LAN only . I'm not s...

Re: Unsupported Platforms: what are the disadvantages?

Thanks so much for the responses—great insights that I'd not thought of. My shared BlueHost account seems to work pretty well, although it's not as responsive as I would like. Also, to enable SSL login, you must use their "free" shared SSL Certificate, though it comes at a cost; namely, th...

Unsupported Platforms: what are the disadvantages?

I've only run tt-rss on an unsupported system, a Bluehost shared hosting account.

Can someone please help me understand the drawbacks of an unsupported system? What are the advantages of a dedicated (VDS) host? Thanks!

Subscribing to a G+ user in tt-rss

Re: Mobile webapp for TT RSS: ttrss-mobile

When I access the mobile site, I get the ttrss-mobile directory. My browser displays: "Index of /ttrss-mobile" and lists the files and subdirectories. My access URLs are: http://mydomain.com/tt-rss/ http://mydomain.com/ttrss-mobile/ The API is enabled in tt-rss preferences. My conf.js file...

Unhandled exception - SyntaxErrors

When I launch tt-rss (trunk) in a web browser an error message briefly flashes, but everything works as advertised. I grabbed a screenshot that shows: Unhandled exception -- Exception: SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input Function: backend_sanity_check_callback() -- Additional Information [object Ob...

Re: Launching Android App generates Error Log

Hey, sleeper_service, thanks! I found this thread http://tt-rss.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1697 , read-up on git, sshd into my server, and went throught the paces. I really lucked out because my old config.php worked out of the box. Now, thanks to you, after the next update, I'll have the too...
