Re: MySQL Database & Cron Job Failures

Ohh I see. Part of me being confused was because I assumed the Feed refreshing time in the TTRSS panel was redundant if you had to use a Cron Job to refresh your feeds. I thought a 10 minute Cron Job 'does' refresh your feeds. I thought the refresh in the TTRSS panel was your settings if you had bac...

Re: MySQL Database & Cron Job Failures

TT RSS runs fine on Dreamhost, currently I have about 20000 (i know, it was 70000 - but i deleted a few feeds) items. Updates set to run every 5 minutes (cron) and feeds between 20 minutes and 1 hour (so the cron isn't always making tt-rss do a full update) The cron error is normal, you checked the...

Re: MySQL Database & Cron Job Failures

Thank you so much for this reply. I definitely appreciate your time in typing that response. A lot of information there for me. 1.) I am using the Fever plugin by the way to access TT-RSS through Reeder. Seems like I’ve stayed on top of my RSS Feeds since installation and I’ve not noticed the 50 art...

MySQL Database & Cron Job Failures

No issues currently, just wanting to know how a few things work. Setup: 1.) Shared Hosting: DreamHost 2.) MySQL Database 3.) 85 Feeds 4.) I use the "Reeder" app for viewing articles, the app caches all information I need. I hardly use the TRSS web portal from my website. Questions: 1.) Fro...

Re: Change Timestamps to AM/PM?

This could be because smart date time is always on now (it used to be toggleable) and short time formats for it are hardcoded (those are shorter than general short date format). Locate function smart_date_time() in functions.php and you'll see format strings there. You were correct sir. Thank you f...

Correction, issue is not solved. The short date in the collapsed view is correct for "Starred Articles" But not on fresh or on specific categories or folders.

Re: Change Timestamps to AM/PM?

Open preferences, scroll down to Advanced, change Long (Short) date format strings. I was able to alter the expanded view, but not the time shown in the collapsed view. Is it possible to change that from military to AM/PM? Here is a picture. http://i.imgur.com/lCECJmJ.jpg EDIT: I wanted to note I a...

Change Timestamps to AM/PM?

SOLVED by fox Edit functions.php located in: "/tt-rss/include/functions.php" Locate: function smart_date_time($timestamp, $tz_offset = 0, $owner_uid = false) { if (!$owner_uid) $owner_uid = $_SESSION['uid']; if (date("Y.m.d", $timestamp) == date("Y.m.d", time() + $tz_o...

Re: Problem in Image locations of rss feeds

I may be wrong...

But without sounding like an asshole, the issue may be with your RSS App. If the web portal works fine, then it seems the app is just getting the links and downloading the images and information second hand.

I hope someone else can help.

If I'm understanding wrong let me know.

Re: Periodical Updating from Crontab

Also, .php files don't need the executable flag and, quite honestly, they should not have it. Permissions of 600 (rw-------) or 640 (rw-r-----) should be fine. With shared hosting, you might need to use 644 (rw-r--r--). But try them in the order I've listed them and stop when one works. Ok I got a ...

Re: Periodical Updating from Crontab

I checked and I have permissions to allow update.php to execute and everything. But I'm still getting the same error. Unless I'm fat fingering the directory, but it looks to be correct. Well, the error states it can't open the file. Either the file doesn't exist or cannot be read. What happens when...

Re: Periodical Updating from Crontab

Make sure the update.php file exists at the path specified. Make sure ownership and file permissions are set correctly. I checked and I have permissions to allow update.php to execute and everything. But I'm still getting the same error. Unless I'm fat fingering the directory, but it looks to be co...

Periodical Updating from Crontab

SOLVED by JustAMacUser The SSH code I needed was "/usr/local/php53/bin/php /home/user/mydomain.com/rss/update.php --feeds --quiet" Cron Job is working now! I couldn't have done it without JustAMacUser I'm using an unsupported service, a shared hosting site, DreamHost. DreamHost provides a...
