Re: [Theme][GitHub] feedly theme built from scratch

I have another suggestion. I love that star/publish/select icons for items on the list only appear on mouseover, but they stay visible at all times when active. Would you something similar for scores? Keep it hidden, visible on mouseover, but stay visible if score is different from zero. Now, you ha...

Re: Sync Thunderbird and TT-RSS

fox, funny thing is that attitude you endorse (why should I pay for email in 2013?) seems to me the same attitude that drives people here ranting about OH WHY THIS SHIT IS NOT MORE LIKE GOOGLE READER and MAKE IT WORK IN ANY CRAPPY HOSTING IN THE WORLD YOU MORON. :) I have never run a mail server. I ...

Re: Sync Thunderbird and TT-RSS

fox, in fact, it's a lot more magical to get free service from Google or Microsoft than to pay someone you can actually phone for it. In fact, half the problem with the internet today is that people actually believe they are living in a world of magic and clouds and free. (I read someone saying how ...

Re: Sync Thunderbird and TT-RSS

But you are opposing only two alternatives: self-hosted in a box you wholly control vs huge farms run by the internet giants. And there is a third: someone else hosts it for you and takes care of keeping the thing running, but the data are yours and you have your own domain and you don't add to the ...

Re: [Theme][GitHub] feedly theme built from scratch

Well, I'm not too keen in any of the two options really.

Idea: since the Special folder title is not quite useful... why not hiding it altogether and leaving only the collapse link?

Re: Sync Thunderbird and TT-RSS

lore72, as far as I know, the answer to all your questions is no you can't. Conventional OPML import/export for feeds, and that's all between TB and TT-RSS. I don't think TB supports any kind of RSS sync at all.

Re: Sync Thunderbird and TT-RSS

No it's not. Mail waits in the server until you fetch it. RSS gets updated and old items disappear. RSS needs to work continuously, mail doesn't. Then there is the read anywhere over the internet thing. Vastly overrated, specially now that people are more likely to read their personal mail in the of...

Re: Feature request: Option "whole word" for filter criteria

May I suggest adding a page on regex syntax to the wiki (copying it from any free manual around) and then adding a help link to that in the filter dialog? In my case, I wouldn't even know that "boundary" is the correct term for this concept. It took me a long time to find the right info ab...

Re: [Theme][GitHub] feedly theme built from scratch

Not sure about the latest changes. I find that the "Special" header is very unintuitive. It's not predictable that it will take you to the Favourites feed. And it's even less intuitive that a link to collapse a folder and the headline for that folder are styled exactly the same way, since ...

Subscribe to OPML

I'm taking this idea from a blog post by Dave Winer (the guy who invented RSS). http://scripting.com/2013/08/15/feedReaderDevs The idea is simple: besides importing feeds from an OPML, let the user subscribe to an OPML that has a permanent URL. The feed reader automatically subscribes/unsubscribes t...

Good shared hosting providers

I ask you to post here the names of shared hosting providers who fulfil all the requisites for Tiny Tiny RSS. Specially, providers that you have personally tested. TT-RSS has become less demanding in terms of system requisites and is able to work in more environments than before (for example, open_...

Re: Why you should be ahhpy you moved to tt-rss

What I find interesting about the non-closure of The Old Reader is that whoever has purchased the service wants to prove (yet again) that RSS is not dead. Someone (yet again) has bet her money on future demand for feed readers. Fine.

We knew, of course.

Re: Why you should be ahhpy you moved to tt-rss

It shows how actually ignorant in technology matters a lot of technology bloggers are. Instead of recommending software and services with a solid history, that had proved to deserve a minimum trust, they went crazy about a newcomer (the old reader had been online for a few months only) whose main me...
