Re: Extend update timeout

I don't recall if there's any explicit script or procedure for 'wiping' the feed history from the database. The feed script supposedly purges everything older than the 30-day (or whatever limit you've set in your config file). You could look at what query it's using for that and drop all records fro...

Re: 1.9 - Mark as Read

If I'm understanding the OP's requirements vs. what tt-RSS' Mark as Read does, it's this: at some point t(0), a user opens tt-rss and it displays all the unread articles culled from the feeds that are defined in the database. while reading some fraction of those articles or leaving the session, anot...

Re: 1.9 - Mark as Read

this was the same behavior I saw on Google Reader. It just means that the form did autorefresh under the database but the values in the form to flag the update in database didn't refresh. If you reload the page, that should update everything and when you click Mark as Read, it will update the correc...

Re: [1.9] update.php locked

You're supposed to run it from a cron job. Contact your sysadmin to set that up. Or read the directions on the install guide on how to setup updates and create the cron job however you're comfortable.

man crontab

Re: Password reset

The passoword, AFAIK, is a one-way hash (usually its the MD5 hash with a salt). So you can't set it yourself using something like phpMyAdmin. But you *can* lookup the row in the ttrss_users table and find out what email is assigned to the account. And you can change it. Then when you attempt to logi...

Re: feeds not updating via cron or manual

remove the "apache" from the cron job. It should run the php script in cron.

I run this on my shared hosting and my MacOS desktop without problems. Although for MacOS, I did setup a launchd user-agent that works just fine.

Re: Hide some special feeds

Here's a more universal list of the special feeds: /* #dijit__TreeNode_1 { display: none; } */ /* ALL special feeds */ /* #dijit__TreeNode_2 { display: none; } */ /* All articles */ #dijit__TreeNode_3 { display: none; } /* Fresh articles */ /* #dijit__TreeNode_4 { display: none; } */ /* Starred arti...

Re: Login with an SSL certificate

try sending an email to your ISP's support desk. I'm assuming you're trying to setup secure http on your shared host. They may already have a certificate setup for you to use and point you to how to use it. If you're doing this on your own LAMP server, again there are probably Google pages out there...

Re: Updating Feeds - Obsolete

It seems perfectly reasonable to me to take a middle ground here. I've had to move my site which was mostly static HTML with some perl and php when they imposed "security restrictions" all of a sudden. I ended up with another host that's cheaper and offers more services and is less of PITA...
