Now, I always welcome patches, so feel free to optimize SQL. So far I just know basic stuff about SQL language like simple select, update, insert, etc. so I can't help with this at the moment unfortunately. Reworking this and other counters queries to use joins could be faster, although you'll prob...

I think I have it fixed now. I did the following: 1. Set feed expire to 1 day. 2. Made a copy update_deamon.php that purged all the feeds and ran it. 3. Set feed expire to 30 days and run the normal update_daemon.php. Now the unread count is 8390 and is returned in 0.5 seconds with about 16% cpu usa...

Could you try it in Postgres? I wonder if performance would be better. 195 feeds is not that much, although you really have a lot of unread articles. Or you can send me your OPML and I'll try it here, on my garden-variety athlon64 box at work. I guess I could install Postgres and try it. It appears...

Re: Performance of mysql/ttrss not so good

Well, you'll have to enable expiration, just set it to some reasonable amount of time (you can set different expiration thresholds on a feed basis). Think of it this way: RSS is news . How long would you keep an unread newspaper? Probably a day or two. TT-RSS defaults to a whole month, if I remembe...

Performance of mysql/ttrss not so good

Hi, I having a few performance problems with mysql and ttrss. First of all sometimes mysqld according to top is taking 110% of the cpu (I would guess it goes above 100 because of the second processor). Also ttrss is slow loading feed lists and feed items. I enabled query logging and found one query ...

Here is some code I made based on the above code. This goes in backend.php: $stylecontentframe = "position: relative; top: -30px; left: -8px; width: 102.5%; height: 210px; overflow: auto"; $stylecontentdiv = "position: relative; top: -0px; left: -8px; width: 102.5%; height: 210px; ove...

Yep, Firefox authors didn't make this easy. Unfortunately, neither can I - the software is downloadable, I can't just make "add to tt-rss" button a-la bloglines. Actually you can make the Firefox RSS icon open tt-rss. A tutorial is at http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/07/firefox-20-tutorial...
