Question about the editing of the layout, and updating TTRSS

Postby Beun » 19 Mar 2013, 13:31

I have edited /classes/feeds.php, in order to move some icons to the right. Simply because I like this layout better.
Looks like this now... (Scroll to the right)

Am I correct in assuming that if I want to keep the layout like this, I would have to edit /classes/feeds.php every time I update TTRSS to a newer version?
Or is there another way?

Thx :)

Did you try to use the user-stylesheet for your modifications?

As can be seen in the image, I have made several layout adjustments. Mostly color related. All have been done via the user-stylesheet.
All, except for those icons I have moved to the right. To accomplish that, I edited /classes/feeds.php.
Are you telling me that moving those icons can be done via the user-stylesheet as well?

Look at all the bumps. I don't think those can be moved using css, unless there's some css table layout wizardry I'm not aware of. :(

Okay. Thx. Just wanted to be sure, since there might just be wizardry I am unaware of.

So if I want to keep the layout like this, am I correct in assuming that I would have to edit /classes/feeds.php every time I update TTRSS to a newer version? There is no other way?

Thx.

Since the layout is in divs, some css could probably be applied to the layout. I'm also not in love with the icons on the right. maybe i'll try to tweak this stuff.

You could apply the following css values - there's a post somewhere about loading a custom css, I don't know where it is off the top of my head.

div.hlRight { float: left; }
div.hlLeft { float: right; }

it's not polished at all, but it's a starting point. we could implement this as a plugin right? I think I'll work on that.

Hello there.
I just installed this crazy good software and the forum rss shown me someone with css issue.

I'm surely not a css wizard, but... If i understood well what you want to achieve, try adding this at the and of your css file and...

Code: Select all

div[id*='RROW-'] {
position:relative
}
img[id*='FMPIC-'] {
position: absolute;
right: 40px;
}
img[id*='FPPIC-'] {
position: absolute;
right: 20px;
}
span.hlUpdated {
min-width: 70px;
text-align: left;
margin-right: 100px;
}

... let me know if it works ;)

(I mean... it shouldn't blow up your server, AFAIK) ;)

oh, and sorry for my poor english :roll:

sorry, didn't noticed you moved the checkbox, too.

This way it's even easier, forget the previous css code and use this:

Code: Select all

div.hlLeft {
padding-left: 0;
float: right;
padding-right: 8px;
padding-top: 3px;
}
.claro .dijitCheckBox, .claro .dijitToggleButton .dijitCheckBoxIcon {
float: right;
margin-left: 5px;
}

let me know if something went wrong (it shouldn't, but... :roll: )

The new css code didn't work for me. Looked like it didn't do anything at all.

pretty weird...
did you put it at the end of the css file?
in case, have you tried to take a look with chrome developer tools to see what happened to those css directives?

oh, and did you clear you cache? :)

I made sure it was the only code I had in "Customize stylesheet" and then opened up Chrome in an incognito window to make sure that the cache was clean. Still nothing.

I don't know anything about chrome developers tools or CSS coding, so I doubt messing would that would be helpful. (I did CTRL+SHIFT+I... everything looked "fine" I guess).
