Articles Not Staying Marked As Read?

Postby surfrock66 » 22 Mar 2013, 08:28

Hey. I'm new to ttrss...I've read the FAQ and searched the forum and can't seem to find a straight answer, though it's entirely possible it's because I'm stupid.

I'm using tt-rss 1.7.4 (at least I think so...the update area in the preferences says I'm up to date) using the install on Amahi (so basically php 5.3.8 on Fedora 14). I don't have a daemon running...but I'm using the following cron statement:

Code: Select all

*/30 * * * * cd /var/hda/web-apps/ttrss/html && /usr/bin/php /var/hda/web-apps/ttrss/html/update.php -feeds >/dev/null 2>&1

TT-RSS seems to work ok, my feeds load and everything displays right...but when I mark things as read, it seems like every 30 minutes (so the feed update interval) ALL posts since the time I installed the app show up as new. Even if I right-click and hit "mark all as read" to "All Articles" and they all go away...sure enough it's 500+ new articles next refresh.

This is a link to my opml file, with settings: http://www.surfrock66.com/TinyTinyRSS.opml

Any help is appreciated...I've also bought the full android app, and I'd love for this to become my main go-to.

I've subscribed my test account to your lolcats, we'll see how it goes. :)

Edit: you can debug feed updates by using f D hotkey after selecting a feed, you can try refreshing that to see if stuff being marked as unread continuously. Generated log would be useful too if that happens.

I've been looking for my standard /var/log/messages and /var/log/httpd/error_log and haven't seen anything...any other thoughts for a log?

Edit: Yes...I haven't moved all feeds yet from reader...I just moved the important ones...I did it for the lulz :D

Like I said, f D will produce a debug log for the feed you had open.

Well, it's been running for a few hours, and only a few (actually new) articles appeared.

I spit out the debug, and it was a greek to me, is there something specific I should be looking for?

I was wondering if it was a purge thing or something.

Scrolling down a bit, we see articles posted at like "9:00AM" which should still be marked as read:

Bump, still having the issue. Any other debug steps, other than what's above?

Do you have "mark updated articles as unread" in feed editor checked?

Also, your debug log doesn't contain needed stuff; it should start with "update_rss_feed: fetching...", try on a proper feed (not category not label not anything in Special).

It could be a purge thing if you configured it ridiculously low.

I don't believe so...but I will go in and remove it from all feeds to be sure. All my currently loaded feeds are lolcats...unless it's the default and I missed it, I wouldn't have checked it.

Default set to 10 days, each feed is set to the default.
