[1.7.5] Hacker news can't be read

Postby justauser » 25 Mar 2013, 16:47

I subscribe to Hacker news. The RSS feed URL is:

https://news.ycombinator.com/rss

I get an error that says it can't be read. Google and 2 desktop readers can handle this feed. It is RSS2. One strange thing I did notice is that there are no "new line" characters in the feed.

I was able to subscribe to this, too.

Do you have any other feeds with https: URLs? Maybe something about your installation has a problem fetching secure pages.

I have one other https feed and it isn't working either. Any ideas on what might be missing in my installation to be able to access these sites?

Config problem on my part. I did however find a call to curl in the code where the VERIFY_PEER was not set. I added this as well, but am not sure which was the fix.
