Did it.

"All done. 6157 out of 6350 articles imported."

So.. some seem to be lost, no big deal anyway. First archived article is now from 2007. Neat.

If you imported both starred and shared, there could have been some duplicates. It only imports articles with GUID not in the database.

I couldn't get the plugin to work from the browser. Ran the cli version and I get:

error: Can't create lockfile (update.lock). Maybe another update process is already running.

I am running update.php --daemon is that the problem? workaround?

If daemon is running, use a separate task: --task 2.

I get the parse error with the browser interface, and the command line is just exiting as soon as I run it.

In the instructions for the command line, what exactly does this mean?
"To use it, plugin should be added to config.php constant PLUGINS."

I've read the whole thread and haven't found what needs to be added nor can I tell from the existing config.php file. Thanks in advance for any help :)

Really? You seriously just don't understand this line?

It's my first time enabling a plugin in config like this. cut me a break.

Code: Select all

define('PLUGINS', 'auth_remote, auth_internal, note, googlereaderimport');

Correct?

See how easy it is when you actually use your brain. Yes, that's right.

Edit: what about that syntax error? Can you post it?

I don't see how an arbitrary criteria of posts count should excuse people from thinking before posting.

I did think. And I read the whole thread. I merely asked for clarification about something that wasn't specified exactly. I apologize if my request offended you. I will seek help elsewhere in the future so as not to cause any problems.

The first post says we should use the following to run from the command line:

looking at the code the init function looks like:

./update.php --greader_import FILENAME

Code: Select all

function init($host) {
      $this->link = $host->get_link();
      $this->host = $host;

      $host->add_command("greader-import",
         "import data in Google Reader JSON format",
         $this, ":", "FILE");

      $host->add_hook($host::HOOK_PREFS_TAB, $this);
   }

doesn't that mean that we should use --greader-import and not --greader_import

I like how you decided to post that instead of running update.php and seeing for yourself.

Edit: you need to go deeper.

For others experiencing issues: Try running a fresh export from Google Takeout. I was getting errors when working with starred.json from a takeout zip I made two weeks ago, but when I retried everything using a fresh starred.json created today it worked fine. Looks like Google made changes sometime recently.

I have a quick question related to this plugin. I need to import a lot of tagged articles from greader. There is no way to directly do that with Google Takeout but there is a python script which does that that: greader-hoover. It outputs a .json file for each tag. Is there any way to easily import all those .json files into tinyrss, for a certain user, and automatically create labels, based on .json filename ?
