[1.7.6 - 1.7.7]

Postby nihplod » 04 Apr 2013, 11:28

Updated from 1.7.4 to 1.7.6 and everything worked good, but i noticed that i could not login with a other user.

Upgraded to 1.7.7 and it still persist, my old user still works that is already logged in for some reason.
When i try to login with that same user from a other browser i just get http://rss.nihplod.com/public.php?return=%2F and then it stops.

httpd-error tells me nothing
httpd-access gives me this

Code: Select all

62.13.26.84 - - [04/Apr/2013:09:25:05 +0200] "POST /public.php?return=%2F HTTP/1.1" 200 21 "http://rss.nihplod.com/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0"

Page is just blank and waiting for my life to end =)
Anything else i can provide?

Edit:

Also noticed that the feeds aren't updating with the update.php -daemon or update_daemon2.php. It tells me that it is checking stuff and things but no feeds are updated in ttrss-page. But when i press "f r" it updates the feed with more articles. Is this related to the login issue i am having?

Hi nihplod

When I upgraded from 1.7.5 to 1.7.6 my feeds stopped updating. Does this help: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1692

That solved the updating, i already actually tried that out and noticed that it solved the updating. Thought that there was a difference between the daemon updating and the webpage updating the feeds.

Now i just need to solve the login issue =)

Followed this:

Code: Select all

I have trouble logging in or have other session-related problems
This includes getting errors like code: 6 and code: 7. Usually happens right after upgrade.

Try going through the steps below which should force your session to behave normally from then on:

1. Force logout by opening tt-rss/public.php?op=logout
2. Delete all session cookies from your tt-rss domain, e.g. ttrss_sid and ttrss_sid_ssl.
3. If that didn't help, delete everything from ttrss_sessions table in the database:

DELETE FROM ttrss_sessions

Did force the logout, nothing happened
Deleted all the session cookies in both Firefox/Chrome
Removed all the sessions in the table.

Login still go to http://rss.nihplod.com/public.php?return=%2F after login, and nothing happens after reload or removing the url.

What kind of auth modules are you using? Post your PLUGINS from config.php.

Edit: it's unlikely but what if that happens because you have tt-rss at website root, instead of a sub directory of some kind.

define('PLUGINS', 'auth_remote, auth_internal, note, updater');

The site is located at /home/nihplod/public_html/.rss/ with a vhost as rss.nihplod.com, so that is the "root" folder for it.
I tried to remove auth_remote and login, no dice
same with auth_remote and login.

Any procedure i need to do to try this out
We are a few users using this so multi user is needed

Can you temporary try it as a subdirectory? Adjust SELF_URL_PATH too.

Edit: you can also try temporarily disabling validate_session() to see if that causes this problem, e.g. add "return true;" in there right after {.

trying http://nihplod.com/.rss/ and changed the SELF_URL_PATH to http://nihplod.com/.rss/ gives me http://nihplod.com/.rss/public.php?return=%2F.rss%2F when trying to login

Even tried to change SELF_URL_PATH to just http://nihplod.com/

I noticed that if i try to login with user: fuckface and password: ajndsoq it gives me the same response. No error that the user does not exists or something.
I see that sessions are being written in the database so somewhat it does something >_<

Well, I dunno, really.

What if you add @session_start() to the bottom of include/sessions.php? This will effectively return the session handling to the way it was before that huge change and would probably restore things back to order.

Edit: I'm progressively disliking the current solution to session starting, even though it mostly works now (for me).

This is the end of sessions.php file, i see a @session_start in there?
Are my files not updated properly? >_<

I will try to remove, redo, retry

Code: Select all

    if (!SINGLE_USER_MODE /* && DB_TYPE == "pgsql" */) {
        session_set_save_handler("ttrss_open",
            "ttrss_close", "ttrss_read", "ttrss_write",
            "ttrss_destroy", "ttrss_gc");
    }

    if (!defined('TTRSS_SESSION_NAME') || TTRSS_SESSION_NAME != 'ttrss_api_sid') {
        if (isset($_COOKIE[$session_name])) {
            @session_start();
        }
    }
?>

remove if (!defined .... ) { } (second block) and replace with @session_start().

And you just blew my mind with coding >_<

Managed to do that

Code: Select all

    if (!SINGLE_USER_MODE /* && DB_TYPE == "pgsql" */) {
        session_set_save_handler("ttrss_open",
            "ttrss_close", "ttrss_read", "ttrss_write",
            "ttrss_destroy", "ttrss_gc");
    }
            @session_start();
?>

I get the login, but it stops at the same url.
I also tried to install 1.7.8, totally from scratch.

Cleared cookies and sessions.
So, somewhere after the upgrade of the DB from 104 to 115 with the 1.7.6 upgrade it just died on me. =(

Edit: ah it still stops. Are you absolutely sure there's no errors in apache error.log? There really shouldn't just be a BLANK screen.

Edit2: what if you tried 1.7.8 or latest trunk with a separate blank database? If it doesn't work out of the box than something is really screwed up there.

Hmms, http://nihplod.com/rss2/ totally new installation with a new clean DB.

Still the same thing.. I am at a loss here.
I haven't changed any apache settings or php the last err.. 14 days and ttrss have been working until i upgraded from 1.7.5

Sessions are being written to the new DB and everything works there it seems

Edit: If i change to single user mode it just reloops at 50% and reloading the site over and over again..
