What was the reason for removing Sort by Title? I used it quite a bit and miss the functionality.

Just wondering if it's just me who found it useful.

Really appreciate all the work you guys put in to this.

Mostly because I didn't think anyone used it. :(

Yeah, that's exactly the behavior that made Google-services users disappointed in Google developers – removing services and options they "didn't think anyone used"...

Yes, of course, it's a very similar situation, because tt-rss is a closed proprietary product you can't modify and/or backport features you might need from previous versions.

What the fuck? Think before you post or get out. Nobody needs this shit here.

oh thats a bummer... any chance of getting it back? If you could please point me to the code, I can try and incorporate back into my installation. very basic programming skills here.

Yes, exactly, I'm only a user, not a programmer (maybe a little bit), and I can't figure out how to modify and/or backport features in almost 1 megabyte of code someone else wrote, using languages and toolkits I have no idea about...
Yes, installing ttrss requires higher level of skills than "subscribing to feed.ly", but anyway, it's a product...
Who are your clients, "People who read news using RSS" or "Web-developers and website administrators who make websites based on ttrss to let people read news using RSS"?

You should definitely add "Don't mention Google Reader" to forum rules... =D

I don't have any clients here. Also, maybe you should consider stopping shitting up this thread with your poignant commentary nobody asked for. This community has a very relaxed approach to offtopic posts, but there's a limit to everything.

indianbuckeye, this could be relatively easily added back, I just need to finish dealing with this character over there educating me on freedoms and whatnot.

a large influx of greader people keep yammering at Fox to "be more like google", and here you are saying he's doing that, and then complaining about it.

some people are *never* happy ;)

I think there is a large influx of GReader users (like me) who have only dealt with companies like Google (not like me) and expect something a lot different than an open-source, essentially-one-man, operation can or SHOULD deliver. Which will make the the essentially-one-man vary cranky. I know I wouldn't hold up well under the pressure, but the speed at which he's doing bugfixes and feature releases show that fox is handling the pressure admirably.

(Three cheers for the cranky developer!)

Still, I remember witnessing some of the early kerfluffles over RSS itself, and the conflicts between Dave Winer and the late-great Aaron Swartz, and I can only say to fox: "Don't be like Winer... but, all things considered, don't be too much like Swartz, either"
