Amazon Free App feed broken [SOLVED I'M AN IDIOT]

Postby craywolf » 14 Jun 2013, 18:00

This has actually been a non-working feed in TT-RRS for as long as I've had it, I just kinda forgot I was subscribed.

http://rss.dougwarren.org/AmazonFreeAppFeed/

I've looked it over and I'm not sure why I'm not getting new items from it. The feed passes validation, every item has a unique link and GUID. I don't know enough about the details of RSS to interpret it further.

I don't see anything remotely interesting in the log, just some preg_match errors when I was trying to figure out the right syntax for a filter. I don't have any plugins that should be messing with that feed. Just af_slashdot, af_unburn, and my af_newspapers plugin. I haven't tried xmllint, but there are no syntax errors (or any other errors) reported in the interface.

EDIT: Forgot to mention my version... I'm on trunk but a few days behind, prefs page says v1.7.9.10e1b51

Any ideas on fixing this one?

I added that feed here with no issues, but it looks like the feed just hasn't been updated - searching the raw rss for 'mighty' turns up nothing, even though today's app is "Mighty Dungeons"..

I suppose it's possible to implement a markov chain plugin which will generate posts based on previous feed content

Huh, I guess you're right. I was fixated on this:

Code: Select all

<lastBuildDate>Fri, 14 Jun 2013 09:46:17 -0000</lastBuildDate>

...since the articles themselves aren't dated, and didn't even bother to check the actual article content. So yeah, guess it's time to unsubscribe.

https://twitter.com/amazonappstore

run 'em through the json to rss parser that's recently been posted here ;)

Ah, sweet. I knew I'd find a reason for that script eventually. Thanks.
