phd comics subscription

Postby r4mbini » 06 Nov 2015, 02:13

I'm incredibly new to tiny tiny RSS so I'm sorry if this is an obvious question.

I'm trying to add a subscription to http://phdcomics.com/gradfeed.php but ttrss keeps saying 'specified url doesn't seem to contain any feeds'

Is there a fix for this? I'm really keen to host my own RSS aggregator but this feed is a bit of a deal breaker for me. I'll own up to being on shared hosting but I doubt that that's the issue here.

Thanks for any help

I don't have any problems adding that feed, and I read phdcomics through my tt-rss install regularly.

That's so strange, is that the exact url you used to add it?

I found the feed checker and it managed to process absolutely fine. I also tried a fresh tt-rss install and no joy.

It won't help a lot, but I, too, didn't have any problems subscribing to http://phdcomics.com/gradfeed.php.

You can try downloading the feed url on the server that hosts your Tiny Tiny RSS, and see what you get. By the way, where did your fresh install come from?

The fresh install is just the latest zip from the website. I've managed to get some alternative hosting temporarily so I'm going to see if it's that causing the issue.

Is there anything else I can try?

@sleeper_service, would it be possible for you explain what you've shown me there?

Thanks for your input!

I got the same response while attempting to manually download the feed url. I also tried supplying the user agent string, and got what looked like a correct feed file.

Just tried to retrieve it from the server and the connection was rejected. Time to email their webmaster asking to be white listed
