Unable to restrict image size.

Postby shadowfiber » 04 Apr 2016, 03:12

Greetings,

I am trying to reduce image size in all feeds, and unable to do so with the resources I have found on the forums. (Or make them dynamically better) as in other readers.

I found a knowledge base article with userscripts of

div.postContent img { max-height : 80%; }
div.cdmContent img { max-height : 70%; }

I have tried both, and in the different modes, which have no effect.

Please see the screenshot at imgur: https://imgur.com/zWidTUV

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

well, what I use is this in the perferences, customize stylesheet

Code: Select all

div.cdmContentInner img, div.postContent img {
 max-height : 700px;
 max-width : 800px;
 height : auto;
 width : auto;
}

adjust to your liking.

First off, THANK YOU! i'm not sure why every other code snippet I tried was not functioning. This will help dramatically.

Secondly, do you have any suggestions to make the articles more in-line?

As you can see, the text begins after the image, and the alignment is quite off. It would be nice to have everything uniform. I am used to feedly where everything is centered.

Thank you again so much!

euh... not a clue, sorry. probably something clever in css... what I'm using was something suggested to me ages back.

ps, don't mention feedly around here... you'll just get told to go use feedly ;)

Appreciate the insight... I'm loving this way more than feedly, the whole goal was to control my own reader and have more customization. In no way shape or form am I trying to clone it.

That being said, there is some random one offs, like the text issue that are just annoying and would like to have resolved. In due time, and learning the product more in depth will probably do that. I've read a lot on these forums, and probably will now have to be annoying myself in a few things I cannot resolve..

Thanks a bunch!

Perhaps adding:

Code: Select all

display : block;
margin-left : auto;
margin-right : auto;

Inside the CSS braces sleeper_service suggested.

No promises that it will do what you want though. :)

JustAMacUser!

Very close!!! It centered all of the images, and resolved a lot of the text problems around the images. However, in most feeds, the text is now aligned left, and the images are centered.

Your help is invaluable! Any other suggestions?

Thank you!

You want all the text center aligned?

I believe it would make sense to have them aligned center, but I suppose in some cases where there are links underneath the text, it could look funky. I suppose I won't really know unless I see it. :oops:
