Undefined indexes

Postby datguy » 08 Nov 2005, 01:43

Scanning through my error logs, I see a lot of errors from tt-rss. I fixed several problems (like Use of undefined constant DB_HOST - assumed 'DB_HOST' in config.php), but the remaining ones are a mystery:

Undefined index: fetch in backend.php on line 27
Undefined index: tags in backend.php on line 336
Undefined index: subop in backend.php on line 338

Any suggestions on how to fix these?

I'm running:
PHP Version 4.3.9
Apache 2.0.52
PostgreSQL 7.4.8
Tiny-Tiny RSS v1.0.6

Thanks,
datguy

You probably have too much debugging enabled in PHP. Some http parameters are optional and may not be present in $_GET at all times, so your PHP complains. I don't exactly see the point in changing this:

Code: Select all

$blah = $_GET["blah"];

if ($blah) {
      do stuff with $blah...
}

to something like this:

Code: Select all

if (defined $_GET["blah"]) {
  $blah = $_GET["blah"];
} else {
  $blah = "";
}

Just to prevent some stray warning messages disabled by default.

error_reporting

Postby datguy » 08 Nov 2005, 19:13

That's it. Turns out my web host set error_reporting to E_ALL, and these messages are all "Notices".

Thanks!
