Automatic mark-as-read timeout + bug

Postby xtaz » 24 Dec 2009, 16:53

I use tt-rss with combined feed display set to on, and mark articles as read automatically set to on. This works as I like where articles are marked as read as I scroll down the screen, but it takes approx 5 seconds for it to be shown on the screen before it is marked as read. I would like to lower this time to 0 or 1 seconds. Could somebody possibly point me to the right place in the code where I can find this? I'd also like to suggest this could be made into a configuration option in the future maybe?

Also I have noticed a bug with 1.3.4 where in the preferences, feeds tab if you click on a feed and click unsubscribe it brings up a dialog window asking if you are sure, but it gets the feed name wrong. It usually shows the name of the last feed rather than the one you are trying to unsubscribe from.

Yeah, auto catchup is hardcoded at 4 and 5 seconds. You'll have to change this in viewfeed.js

Code: Select all

_cdm_wd_timeout = window.setTimeout("cdmWatchdog()", x);

Set X to 1000 to make it 1 second.

The preferences feed dialog bug should be fixed in trunk, but thanks for reporting it. :D

Hi,
Quite an old topic, but is seems above workaround is not possible anymore.
Could you please advise what the current value is to mark feeds as read when scrolling?
Does it now correspond to catchup_timeout_id in viewfeed.js?
Thks

Yeah look for catchup_timeout_id.

Code: Select all

               catchup_timeout_id = window.setTimeout('catchupBatchedArticles()',
                  2000);
