Categories? Have or not to have?

Postby darhom » 29 Sep 2011, 07:38

Hi

I see that TTrss supports categories but I do not know how to create them :(

I imported most of my feeds. When I open Mysql tables(categories entries) I actually see that TTrss has imported all the categories inside the opml, however they are nowhere near the feed bar. And I cannot find them. On top of it I cannot seem to be able to find a place to create them.

According to this image TTrss has nice category support

thanks

Enable them in the preferences. Also, searching the forum before creating new threads is a sort of a recommended thing.

fox,

thanks that solved the issue. The thing that got me was that that preferences setting also effects the way the "feeds" preferences are presented. Anyway the category implementation is great.

I also searched the forum before posting here. Most of the things were revolving around issues with categories and I did not see a way to enable them. Probably missed it.

thanks

I'm having problems with the categories, apparently I cannot delete them. I am hosting the service in a windows 2k8r2 server via IIS. I also host a wiki and an owncloud instance. Am I missing something?

Thank you.

Categories can be deleted: In Preferences > Feeds, click the Categories dropdown, select (Un)hide empty categories if needed. Then right-click a category and select Remove category.
Pretty straightforward.

Did I write delete? I mean create, I'm sorry. when I create a category it does nothing. Deleting feeds work.

Thank you.

Check tt-rss error logs, apache logs and browser console for any errors reported.
