Logging Methods for Modules

Postby hydrian » 18 Mar 2013, 02:11

Hey devs,
How should administrative error messages generated? I'm generating authentication modules for LDAP. I want to generate error messages when LDAP specific errors happen. Errors such as cannot connect to ldap server, service account cannot bind, or multiple users returned. I will reject the user login silently to the user interface but I want an error message written to a logger. Should I just send it to E_USER_WARNING and let the admin deal with the logging or is there an internal TTRRS logging method I should be using?

There's no tt-rss specific logging. Some people have warnings redirected to browser output (which is ridiculous, but there you have it). Maybe error_log()?
