To bring this topic really to an end now. I figured out why it was working for you and not for me with the same pages. libxml2 the library behind all this does not understand the HTML5 charset declarations <meta charset=...> prior to version 2.80. Heise.de uses this "new" declarations and so it worked for you but failed for me.

Hi Fox,

i like your readability-plugin. i removed most of my feeds from af_feedmod. Not needed any more ...

Could you have a look at the following feed:
http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/index.rss

the current version mentions an article pointing to
http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/welt ... ml#ref=rss

af_readability fetches only the subtitle from the image, not the article. Is this something you can fix or is this a restriction of readability?

i'm not gonna start patching and tweaking readability, it's a mountain of terrible code doing god knows what. if it doesn't like some specific site i guess that's too bad. you can ask the people who wrote the implementation (fivefilters.org) i guess.
