Don't forget to tell the guys here that the git repository origin has changed once more:

Code: Select all

git remote rm origin
git remote add origin https://tt-rss.org/gitlab/fox/tt-rss.git

Pulling works via

Code: Select all

git pull origin master

I've just added a compatibility shim for this. I'd like to keep the origin URI the same from now on, regardless of whether I'll continue using gitlab or not.

http://tt-rss.org/git/tt-rss.git should work now.

Direct gitlab url would also work, of course, but I recommend using the first one.

Well I just stumped at the resistance of others against Fox's decision... It's not a big deal to change the origin url and keep on enjoying tt-rss 😉

installation is pretty easy if you don't mind adding third party repos to your system.

gitlab seems ok, i'm not gonna go with the omnibus because i run other stuff on it so i'll have to integrate all of it together anyway

gitlab omnibus is really nice if you just want something that works, reliably, right out of the box, updates painlessly, has a central config for everything...

One thing github had was the ability to get commits as an rss feed. Looked at the commits page and it doesn't appear to have an RSS feed. Looked online and seems that this isn't currently supported. Bummer.

there's an activity rss feed which should pretty much amount to the same thing imo

How does pushing (i.e.: translation updates) work now?

if i try to register to tt-rss.org/gitlab, it keeps telling me:

"1 error prohibited this user from being saved:
Projects limit must be greater than or equal to 0"

and fails

strange, it was set to -1 for some reason. i've set it to 0.

other than that it should work like this, i think:

1. you register on gitlab
2. i give you access to tt-rss or w/e you're interested in
3. you make a branch, work on it, and post a merge request to master

obviously nobody is forcing anyone to register on tt-rss.org. git is decentralized so you can work on your local repository and use git request-pull or git format-patch or github or what have you.
