Using as a basis the mail plugin I've created a plugin that sends whole posts (i.e., their HTML, à la Google Reader) by email:

My PHP-fu is weak, so I'm pretty sure that there are still some bugs out there, but right now the plugin is functional. It produces mails that look like this:

BTW, sending HTML mails with the method used by the mail plugin method has the problem of being quite suspicious, which makes most spam filters reject the e-mail. I've read in the forums about the plugin that uses mailto:, but unfortunately you cannot send HTML in the body parameter of a mailto: request, so that wouldn't work. You could always hard-code the smtp config of your server of choice, but, aside from being a quite ugly solution, it wouldn't work in a multiuser environment. What do you think?
