Hello.
I am using a free web host and when I try to create a crib job to update the feed there are some characters that are not accepted. After the word 'update.php the symbols "--" are not accepted. And if I try to include them appear error.
Can you indicate what to do?
Thanks

Cron job don't accept certain characters
Re: Cron job don't accept certain characters
Maybe you can provide us with the exact command you're trying to feed to cron? You can't expect us to know what you are not showing us...

This is a subforum intended precisely to ask about this. That's why it's called "UNSUPPORTED". People that post here know that they might not get any response, and that any response is kindness from people who maybe has had the same problem.
Pipisauto, it might be that your hosting doesn't allow you to enter commands in cron jobs, only URLs. You can use the URL in this page:
http://tt-rss.org/redmine/projects/tt-r ... dsObsolete
Edit: I see that the thread was moved from Support forum. Ok, the guy didn't read the description.

Re: Cron job don't accept certain characters
If the problem is with cron, just write your own "myUpdate.sh" file containing the full path and commandline to update tt-rss, then just put myUpdate.sh in cron and you're done.
Re: Cron job don't accept certain characters
Why you didn't put that command in script and calls him from cron?

Re: Cron job don't accept certain characters
Something that calls itself cron, but will only accept php scripts. "Awesome".
Create a text file, call it "myhostersucks.php" and put the following in it:
Upload the file to /home/u407721832 and set the "Command to run" thing to "myhostersucks.php".

you really need to take this up with your host provider, it's *not* a ttrss problem.
