Client SSL certificate support in android client

Postby chmac » 03 Dec 2012, 04:00

I hooked up a beautifully secure SSL client protected site only to realise that the docs (correctly, I might add) state that the anrdoid client supports self signed server certificates, not client certificates! It'd be great if it did support client SSL certs, would make for an outrageously secure link between the phone and server. :-)

Otherwise, great software, delighted by the android client so far (just installed / connected...)

It's probably too late for the original poster, but I'm writing this in case someone else has the same problem:

I'm using SSL Droid to create e tunnel from the phone to the website; this supports client authentication. Then instead of setting the ttrss URL, you connect the TT-RSS client to http://localhost: port>, e.g. http://localhost:8081

SSL Droid is stunnel for Android -- have a look at stunnel tutorials to understand the principles of how it works.

AWESOME! Thanks a lot. I'm going to get stuck into this. Anyway, SSLDroid looks like a really handy tool.
