Image title/alt-text on long-press for Android reader

Postby Cwiiis » 15 Mar 2013, 14:41

It'd be great if when you long-press on an image, you have the option of viewing image alt/title text if it has it. This would be great for web-comics, which tend to include an extra sub-title in the image title (xkcd, dinosaur comics, gunshow, etc.)

Yep, I'd like this too. It's only a small thing, but it's great for the user experience.

Context menu could be added, something like

"url or alt text"
share image
open in browser
...

Yeah, that too.

Edit: I screwed around with it a bit but unfortunately it works like crap on 4.1 and up. Works great on 4.0 emulator, but anything else is hit or miss. Sometimes hittestresult gives me image, sometimes not.

Maybe it's because of TitleWebView tt-rss is using (which has to use some weird hacks because google in its infinite wisdom removed support for webview titles in 4.1) maybe because of something like this: https://code.google.com/p/android/issue ... l?id=35940

There's also the possibility of me doing it wrong, but I have no idea how to check for this in any other way. And removing titlewebview is not really a possibility because it saves so much vertical space.

Really any form of "Save Image" whether it be a long-press, or a menu or something else...

Well you can sorta-kinda share them now when it works as outlined above. I'm sure there's some share to save thing.
