Site heading in web app

Postby Aldursil » 26 Mar 2013, 18:57

Would you consider moving the site name inline with the article title?

I normally use "All Articles" to quickly scan through headlines and use the "j" key to jump from article to article. When doing this the jump from the article bypasses the article site name. It's very hard to tell with this workflow what site the article is from. Please see the attached screenshot. The screenshot shows the selected article and then I had to scroll up a bit to see where this article was from.

Thanks for the consideration.

Fox, is this something that could be considered for implementation?

If you disable headline grouping by feeds, the title will appear. Having multiple titles visible at all times just looks bad to me, but you can easily hack this if needed.

Find the following block in classes/feeds.php and remove the if { }

Code: Select all

              if (!get_pref($this->link, 'VFEED_GROUP_BY_FEED')) {
                  if (@$line["feed_title"]) {
                     $reply['content'] .= "<div class=\"hlFeed\">
                        <a href=\"#\" onclick=\"viewfeed($feed_id)\">".
                        truncate_string($line["feed_title"],30)."</a>
                     </div>";
                  }
               }
