well ... very nicely done piece of code

you do get very combative about any suggestions or discussions ... but so be it ... i've modified my version of tt-rss the way I like it

keep up the good work

You have the option of right-clicking on that article, that you clicked to read, and choosing the Mark above/below as read.

I absolutely cannot stand when I'm using the next-post or prev-post hotkey, and tt-rss marks the post that is becoming active as read. I'm just making it active, it has not yet been read. I likewise cannot stand when tt-rss marks the post I am leaving as read. Maybe I skipped past it and want to come back later? What I want is for the damn thing to leave everything either marked as unread or as read until I expressly issue some command telling it otherwise.

I've been a loyal user/administrator of tt-rss for all of thirty fucking minutes. I want it changed right now. Dammit. So, I did it myself. I was excited about maybe becoming a contributor to the project at some point, and I hope this thread is not fully representative of the community.

tl;dr comment out line 1431 or so of viewfeed.js, in the cdmExpandArticle() function, where it calls toggleUnread(), to get (part of?) OP's desired behavior. Which, judging from his last post, he has already done.

Now I have to pull my mindset out of your mom.

Luckily, TT-RSS is open source, so we can fix what we don't like. I did so here for a similar UX preference that got shot down:

It does what you want, but also auto-scrolls the clicked article to the top of the feed window. HTH.

Hi there!
This is exactly what i am looking for (i think!)
Could you please be more specific where I should put the code more exactly?

The snippet from my post is the output of a "git diff". "Diff" is a tool used to communicate just the thing you've asked for: specific and exact changes to text files.

Here's some info that might help: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2529441/how-to-work-with-diff-representation-in-git

Alternatively, you can just grab the code from this 'greader' branch that I've set up to track the latest TTRSS releases: https://github.com/mstroud/Tiny-Tiny-RSS/tree/greader
