Mark read at BOTTOM of article

Postby nneul » 08 May 2013, 21:53

Would be nice to have a mark read button/link/etc. at the bottom of the article instead of or in addition to the checkbox at the top, that way you can mark read when you get to the end of reading the article instead of having to scroll back up.

Anyone else using this plugin?

I'm trying to use it with 1.7.9 and it doesn't seem to work.

When I scroll past an article I see the "mark as read" button get checked, but UNchecking it seems to have no effect. Anyone else with this problem?

**EDIT
Unchecking does mark the article unread, and the article counter goes up 1. But when I scroll past the article it becomes unread again. Is there a trick?

@Larrypoppins:

I am using the plugin. It works as a charme with Chrome and Firefox. Just sometimes (1 in 100 cases) the checkbox is missing. But when the checkbox is visible, clicking on the checkbox marks the above article as read or unread.

Of course I do! Ha!

I guess exactly reproducing Google Reader's "keep as unread" behavior is tricky to pull off in TT-RSS.

An actual "keep as unread" plugin would need a checkbox that somehow overrides the "automatically mark as read" behavior. So even though you're scrolling by an article, tt-rss would respect if the user marked the "keep as unread" box.

I've got an awesome suggestion for you: find something else to do besides troll this forum.
