DB SSL Connection

Postby Tuxinator94 » 30 Aug 2013, 13:36

I'd love to see SSL connection support.

I've been doing some digging and found for MySQL it needs the connection parameter MYSQLI_OPT_SSL_VERIFY_SERVER_CERT to true and then a set the location of the certs which could be defined in the config.php file.

Example for MySQLi http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9738 ... l-from-php

Yes I'm sure it really adds to the ~security~ of the vds or shared hosting you are most probably using.

Will we see SSL support in the near future?

what would you suggest if you had to host app and DB on separate instances?

I honestly don't really care about this at all.

This is completely beyond the scope of the TT-RSS forums; you should really be looking into some general VPS hosting forums (something like Web Hosting Talk).

But if you want to have a secure connection between two machines I suggest creating a VPN tunnel.

(Side note: It's a little odd that you took over 1.5 years to respond.. :) )
