Share with note

Postby jidm » 05 Mar 2009, 19:30

I would like a feature to "Share with note" as gReader has, so people who reads my shared articles can read my comment too.
I'm syndicated to some friends' shared files on gReader, and i'm able to see their comments actually.

Thanks for your great software!
Javier.

Well, tt-rss has "published articles" feature. Maybe that'll help.

This is actually one of the more popular new features in google reader. It's very social and welcoming
We already have publish - which is essentially the same. If a user's published feeds are available via RSS, you could use that. The key difference is that users don't have a way to annotate an item when they add it to the publish.

Seems like there would have to be an alteration of the publish star to also reveal a note textarea, an added field on the table of shared items, and a way to present it effectively in the shared items RSS feed.

Fox, where in the code are the best places to poke around and look for spots for these things? Thanks!

Yes, i'm using that feature. What i'm trying to say is, i would like to publish an article and attach a related text message like "OMG This is soo funny" or "I would like to buy one of these!".

gReader allows 2 methods of publishing: one is the same as here, and the other is like publishing by attaching a note to express something.

Actually, tt-rss displays well the "attached" note from people i follow on gReader's shared items. So maybe is not so hard to add a note to an article while publishing.

So you attach some sort of text comment to the article and it gets automatically published? This could be easily done, yeah. How does GReader put the note in the syndicated feed, e.g. appends to the original article content? Can you screenshot how it looks in tt-rss? :)

Here Leo says: AAAAH!! Karina tenía razón! (Karina was right!) http://file.cd/files/12735.png

Here is the rss feed for that shared articles: http://www.google.com/reader/public/ato ... Fbroadcast

You can search for "aaaah" and see how it is implemented.

Fox, you're the bomb.

If you put this out there, looks like I'll have to upgrade my tt-rss installation finally!

It's in the trunk. It looks somewhat different in the syndicated feed, but the basic principle is the same. I'm not adding the user information (e.g. John Doe says... part), although I can add it if it's needed.

Click the 'a' icon in the article header.

I love the note functionality.

Could you, at some point, add the option to list all the articles you have with notes. (under special?)

Is it possible to change to interface of the share-bookmarklet so one can add notes directly in the popup? That would be a great feature, because I like to add some information to my shared feeds (for friends etc).

Right now, one can only add notes directly in the ttrss-article-view.
