Windows 8 Metro UI app

Postby briandamage » 09 Mar 2012, 02:25

This definitely isn't a high priority request but it would sure be cool to have a Windows 8 Metro UI reader app for Tiny Tiny RSS. I'm using the Windows 8 Consumer Preview and I really like the fullscreen apps on my desktop PC. If I had a Windows 8 tablet it would be even better. I think these apps will also be compatible with Windows Phone 8 when it comes out.

Nice to hear.

From which developer? What's the name of the App?

I'll post a thread in the dev section for W8 and WP8 clients if they are ready. The name is still in flux.

Please look here viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1997
There is an explanation why there isn't a WP7.x app and why there might be no WP7.x app in the future (with a small emphasis on might)

Please don't use the Feature-Request forum, as fox might give a shit about a third-party app and afaik he's not in Windows/Windows Phone development at all...

Thanks,
MC

I know, that fox is not a WP7 developer. So your App was my hope :-) I can understand your point, but i cant buy a new WP8 Phone yet, because my WP 7.8 Phone is only a half year old. I have buyed it one week before the statement from M$ comes out do nut upgrade to WP8 :-(... If someone could teach me C#, i could develop my own App. But i can only code some PHP, C++, JavaScript and such things.

So my only chance is it to wait for a WP7.8 App. Hopefully this will be NextGen Reader.

I think Nextmatters will make a official Announcement this week on his Blog. I dont know, which Service they will support, but i hope for TT-RSS. I dont like Feedly or NewsBlur. Feedly is not accessible via IE8, which we must use in our Company and NewsBlur is crippled down to 10 Articles in the Free Version :-(

I feel with you. I prefer TT-RSS too. There are more then the both, but all of them have several disadvantages. There are really few Services which supports API and not only IOS...

I'm back from vacations. The WP8 version is already published in the ms store. The WP7.1 version is currently in the certification process and should be available soon. The W8 metro version is still in beta and I'm working on it. Please subscribe to the WP8 thread in the dev section to stay updated.
