Recent Broken Feed

Postby gbcox » 13 Jun 2013, 01:46

Just noticed that this one stopped working....

http://dish.andrewsullivan.com/feed/

Getting LibXML error 5 at line 374 (column 183): Extra content at the end of the document

It was working after the switch from simplepie. I was having issues with git pull not getting all the updates, so did a re-clone this AM, and that is when I noticed the issue.

I don't know if it's the cause, but an article titled ' in that feed has an invalid XML character, unicode 0x19, which is 'End of Medium' or 'EM'. That unicode character is not allowed to exist in an XML document.

Well, this feed is quite literally broken because of some garbage character in one of the attributes. Would you be willing to try this plugin and see if it helps: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2123

I'll wait to see what Fox says... I don't have any issue with asking them to fix it if it's indeed their issue. It was working fine with no problem until recently, somewhere between 1.79 and current trunk.

I did take a look at the xml source:

ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />

The error message is saying now it has a problem at column 183 which is the = in width="1"

Thanks. I'll report the issue to the website and ask them to correct. This morning the post rolled off and the floodgates opened.

Looks like they already fixed it... don't see the error on the webpage.

Yeah looks like they have deleted the 'title' attributes on ALL links. One way to be sure I guess.

Yes, they were very responsive and did their best to fix it as fast as possible.
