Apply filter to already existing articles

Postby haary » 27 Mar 2013, 12:44

Hello,
The documentation states "Filtering is done when article is imported to the database from the RSS feed". Is there a way top apply the filter(s) to already imported articles? Like the "Test Filter" function, but as not just onöy as test, but as a "real thing".

In general, no. Some filters will be applied when feed gets updated again, but you shouldn't rely on that.

Would it be possible to implement a "re-apply filters to existing items" function? I regularly alter my filters, for example by adding keywords or changing scores. In order to apply these changes to my feeds I always have to delete and re-import them - which takes some time and drops all read/unread and tag information.

it could be implemented as a plugin, I guess. I don't really think it's worth it, just wait a bit and new stuff will apply.

Something which can force one and/or all filters to be run would be handy... occasionally. There have been times I've wanted to force filtration to occur, but settled for waiting on my cron to fire cause I was too lazy, lol.

I would also love to have that feature - plugin or tt-rss option. Perhaps someday...
