Tapatalk integration
Just wanted to note that I finally bothered to install tapatalk plugin for phpbb.
Re: Tapatalk integration
I can't login via Tapatalk. I only see a toast message, that I tried to login to many times and have to solve the captcha (which is not possible in Tapatalk).
After googling this issue I found some workarounds like log out on pc and login again, solve captcha and Tapatalk wouldn't ask again, but this won't work.
Maybe the captcha is set to "come up every time" or something? Or am I missing something /is there another workaround?
(It worked quite nicely about a week ago or so, but then it just showed me that message and won't let me log in again)

Re: Tapatalk integration
Yeah, phpbb forces captcha solving depending on failed login attempts or something like that which happens a lot more these days because of you know what. Not sure how to fix this, I don't think tapatalk can display captcha stuff.
Re: Tapatalk integration
Well, I guess I have to wait some time, until everything calms down a little.

Re: Tapatalk integration
I finally figured why this happened - because of varnish all connections come from 127.0.0.1 which triggered the too many attempts per ip limit. D'oh.
Re: Tapatalk integration
Resurrecting a dead thread as I can no longer login using tapatalk... Tried resetting and changing my password on the web, but still doesn't let me login on tapatalk. Any ideas?

Re: Tapatalk integration
Yes, it was caused by the newer tapatalk plugin.
e: I'm not sure if my workaround actually fixed it, so if it stops working again post here.

Re: Tapatalk integration
Working now, I noticed the sign in screen changed from asking if I wanted to use a tapatalk account or forum account to just forum account. Will let you know if there are any more problems. Thanks!

Re: Tapatalk integration
lmao i've just noticed they show a literal fullscreen ad of their shit app when you try to open a forum in a mobile browser, and add a banner afterwards pleading to install the app
sorry guys this forum is not going to be an advertising platform for some third party shitware, say goodbye to those fuckers forever
e: if there is an open source alternative which is not going to do any of this shameless shit i'll be willing to include support for it, otherwise just use the fucking browser.

What the Hell?!?
...that's ruthless.
Though there must be a way to disable it, I know (as a user only) phpBB forums which support Tabatalk and which don't have anything like that - the only thing they have is a browser pop up (the kind which appears as a new window, so easy to click away) which informs that there is Tapatalk support and I would have expected that to be disabled by default too.
