Language on the forums

Postby paul » 15 Oct 2013, 22:02

Dear everybody,

Tiny Tiny RSS to my mind is a nice piece of software, I am paying for the android app and had no problems with my installation so far. However I have one issue: The forum feed is subscribed by default which is not a problem in itself. However a felt 80% of the stuff going through the feed (rss.php) that was subscribed on my installation by default seems to be newbie-bashing at its best. This can be entertaining. 80% of bashing however makes quite an unprofessional impression. Clearly some people do just not RTFM. But the responder spending half a page verbally abusing them instead of just writing RTFM does not make the best of impressions either. So my suggestion: Either reduce the flaming on the forum or deactivate the automatic subscription of the forum feed as to not rub the flaming into the face of every new user.

I am prepared to get flamed for this post so go ahead if you must.

but, seriously, it's easier to spend a few minutes ridiculing someone that's too lazy to think for themselves and perhaps discourage others, (though, like you, most don't bother to read the faq) so the support forum devolves into lazy shits that ask the same question over and over and anybody that responds just rubber stamping "rtfm" over and over and over.

think of as helping to chlorinate the forum gene pool.
