Batch Subscribe issues

Postby monksy » 15 Apr 2013, 05:49

I've tried to look for this functionality in the source and I can't find it.

I am using firefox and Chrome, and this issue appears in both browser.

The issue is:

I'm trying to import a list of RSS feeds with the batch subscription. For example:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/ICringely
http://feeds.feedburner.com/Morningstar-Articles...

All of the URLs are separated by one line but when I try to use the batch import it tries to add 1 feed with a URL of all of the feed addresses concatenated.

I am using the latest version: 1.7.8.

A search was performed prior to asking this question, and it appears that no one uses it. I even did a search within the Github code looking for where the input was split based on line breaks. I was unable to find that code. It may be an incomplete feature from the looks of it.

Someone mentioned [using a version prior to 1.5] that it would be a nice to have. [That was based on the search "batch AND subscribe"]

search.php?keywords=batch+subscribe

Your armchair analysis is much appreciated.

A few things. I was about to retort with a knee-jerk reaction by saying that your unhelpful attitude is much appreciated. However, in all honesty there are many other items that are as appreciated.

1. Unhelpful attitude - you're not helping your cause or promoting the product by doing this
2. Lack of displaying of the current version you're running
3. A search for an issue with the "bulk subscription" [what the actual feature is called] wouldn't have found the bug report. The bug report called the issue "bulk import" and did not mention the word subscription.
4. Change ID in the bug report did not match up with the one in GIthub
5. Your naming scheme and how you pass functions through backend.php is not very clear. [That's an issue with the readability of your code rather than an "armchair analysis"]
