Ok let me be the killjoy, as this feed becomes quite crowded and I am running the danger of accidentally skipping important messages from fox.
You have more than one possibility to solve your problem. The easy way is to read the
FAQ, as fox advised:
I have used the update daemon before, but switched away from it. However, the UI keeps nagging me about the daemon not running.
Find and delete the daemon lockfile in LOCK_DIRECTORY. Usually, it's lock/update_daemon.lock
If you did not find the FAQ, no matter the reason why, you could use the fact, that makes open source great. Just grep for the error message and you get the source of the error.
