Use case: Older (subscribed for a long time) feeds that go invalid/inactive or a feed that starts returning errors
Right now on a feed with no current articles, you'll see "last updated" on the feed that will show the last time the updater ran - even if the feed request failed (either an outright invalid URL or other parse failure).
So not only do you have no way to see how long it's been failing for (updated indicator changes on every attempt), but it may have been months since there were any new articles.
I think four related changes would be beneficial here:
1. Track separately the last attempted vs successful feed update instead of just the single timestamp
2. Track the last time a new article was found in the feed
3. Display these on the 'no articles' page for the feed
4. Display these on the preferences feeds page so you can easily see ones that are candidates for pruning.
If you implemented #2 - seems like it would be easy enough to also track the number of new articles ever seen for that feed.
Track the last new article time per feed as well as last successful feed update

Re: Track the last new article time per feed as well as last successful feed update
there's both "feeds with errors" and "feeds with no new articles" dialogs which appear in preferences if needed
